pbearlg How Big Are White Polar Bears? They are adorable, cuddly and utterly vulnerable. Polar bears capture the admiration as well as recognition of individuals the globe over for their fluffy bright coats as well as huggable size. They amass recognition from pet lovers for their hunting skill as well as survival strategies in one of the harshest atmospheres on Earth. But regardless of their mind-boggling popularity these giants are in danger of being actually wiped off Planet completely.

Ice melting should be actually a core focus of conservation efforts for the polar bear as this is actually impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears rely on huge blocks of moving ice to execute their routine actions associated to staying alive. Polar breeds prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, and some also deliver their cubs on them. The trouble with the ice melting is that countless polar bears have actually gone hungry for the reason that there is actually not enough ice for them to hunt their prey. This impacts their capability to reproduce and carry their cubs to term that instantly impacts human population quantities. Additionally, when ice is actually too far from land, polar bears will definitely drown trying to swim far distances to find them. All of these issues have actually made the polar bear more land bound.

Why They’re At Prospect
The greatest hazard to the survival of the polar bear varieties is the noted warming of the Arctic ocean which is leading to the melting of the ice these bears call home. Although the bears utilize the ice for breeding as well as resting as well, it’s fundamental element is to supply a cover for the bears as they hunt seals. Without adequate ice, the bears can easily not prolong far sufficient from land to hunt sufficient food to survive. The bears are turning into malnourished and various are expiring of malnourishment. This dynamic is effecting female bears by having cubs in a wonderful amount generating lesser survival rates of the newer generations. Added hazards to polar bears provide raised race ins with individuals due to the forced time spent on land, and spills, improvement and freight operations relating to oil in the Arctic.

Interference in the form of government controls to diminish human influence has actually been highlighted as a top priority in America and more countries. In addition, exclusive businesses as well as interest bunches proceed to lobby as well as perform by having the government to guard this valued animal in its natural environment. Apart from government intervention, additional groundwork regarding global warming is vital so that the temperature adjustment can easily be actually stopped or reversed. There are agencies that are actually raising hard earned cash for this extremely purpose. Yet another way communities are actually assisting the polar bear is to make use of competent bear patrol agents to keep the land bound polar bears from people as well as to make sure that the bears are not competing likewise highly by having the people for the food sources on land.

Practical knowledge is power. Become additional enlightened about this valuable theme by dropping by Polar Bears at World Wild Life.

Relax, I don’t think any of them are that close to being extinct, certainly not sea lions and penguins.

  2. Swash says:

theres no aving them people think they can save the world but they cant it all ends most likely in the next generation

  3. TOFU MONSTER says:

you know that many sea lions are eaten by orcas every day? how can we save them? -don’t breathe out(CO2 right there) -don’t let cows fart(methane, even more than cars) -don’t eat meat(to transport the meat, you use cars, planes, etc. CO2) -don’t use the computer -don’t use the air conditioner -don’t drive -don’t use a heater -no BBQ -no fireworks -no planes -no cruises(unless it’s driven by a paddle) basically, the only way to slow down global warming is if human kind is obsolete. going green is also expensive.not everyone can afford fuel efficient cars. those are pretty pricey. and some people’s jobs are many miles away(how do they bike there?) vegetable are also high in cost right now. the unhealthier foods are cheaper.(how can we all become vegetarian)

  4. simple….just stop global warming! One thing people dont notice will help: Dont use air conditioners and make sure you shut your computer off instead of sleep mode! Hope this helps!

  5. Dead! says:

    Don’t eat them.

Did you knew Polar Bears could die!! but you could make the diference today, just enter to this link and vote? We still have time to do something! In as few as 50 years, America’s polar bears could be gone. Photo credit: D. Crosbie, Canadian Ice Service New research by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) predicts dramatic declines in polar bear populations as global warming melts the Arctic sea ice these bears depend on for survival. It has never been so urgent to reduce global warming emissions and protect polar bears from extinction. In light of these findings, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has reopened a brief, two week comment period on its January 2007 proposal to list polar bears as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act. No more delays or excuses – it’s time to protect polar bears and their melting homes. Sign our petition to submit your official public comment urging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to protect polar bears from extinction! the site is: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/225344285?z00m=9955860 PLEASE PASS THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS!

  7. did you know polor bears have BLACK skin and CLEAR hair?

  8. Shantay P says:

I will vote for the polar bears.

  9. cattbarf says:

First, I didn’t know Polar Bears were American. Perhaps they can vote, which would be very helpful because politicians would want to keep them alive. As much as we like the cute fellows, they are really vicious predators. I don’t see anyone staying up all night crying over sabre-tooth tigers, so why should I cry over polar bears?

  10. chrysteena says:

i will help. i signed! this is a good idea, being that they only need about 2,000 more signatures to meet their goal. kudos to you…. and LONG LIVE ALL FORMS OF LIFE IN THE WORLD!…. good luck!

Due to Global Warming? The animation in An Inconvenient Truth was hilarious. The polar bear was swimming and couldn’t find an ice chunk solid enough to support him. Most people in my class were sad and shocked. Me and my friend laughed our asses off.

Why should we save polar bears from extinction? im doing a persuasive paper on polar bears and how we should protect them from extincion [[open special zoos for them]] but i cant think of any reasons why theyre useful to us or why we should save them? help!

  13. birdgirl says:

If you cannot think of a reason animals are useful to the planet than you obviously have NO understanding of what an ecosystem is. EVERY animal on the planet has it’s niche or place in it and serves an important function. Every animal on the planet is dependent on one another, when one species dies out it can negatively affect another species, possibly causing it’s extinction as well, and so on, and so on. I suggest you have your teacher teach you some basic biology/ecology before assigning a project like this.

  14. cli168 says:

I believe it has to do with polar bears ability to keep the population of other animals down. If you do not have polar bears, then the animals that get hunted and eaten by the bears would grew in numbers and thats bad. bear eat seal; seal eat fish no bear to eat seal, lots of seal eat lots of fish; danger to another population… etc and etc

  15. Devin S says:

Well consider that it is pretty sad for any animal to become completely extinct. We should try to preserve all life, human or nonhuman. You also have to consider that polar bears keep the other artic wildlife in check from overpopulation and things such as that. But they aren’t going extinct just yet, it is mostly a precautionary because there is a risk they might.

  16. Jim says:

First thing, polar bears are not going extinct. The only way to protect a large roaming predator is by protecting its habitat. That means large tracts of land and ocean, would have to be classified as polar bear refuges. Within these there would be areas off total protection.

  17. What are some fundraising ideas for this?? A couple of friends & I are starting a fundraiser to help polar bears from extinction. But, we have no idea how to raise money. So, we were wondering if anyone has some good polar bear related fundraising ideas, it would be great if you could share them!! Thanks, Sammi and Tatiana

How about collecting old cell phones & getting money for them? I actually wrote an article on how to do this… you can read it at this site: http://www.articlesbase.com/technology-articles/how-to-get-cash-for-old-cell-phones-to-benefit-your-charity-or-cause-293055.html

  20. Get a business to donate something and raffle it off. Or if you can’t get a donation, raffle off a service you can do yourselves like raking leaves for a month or a months free car washes. Great cause! Good luck!

  21. linlyons says:

Sasha has it right. the penguins will get mighty upset. you might note that nothing in the arctic that polar bears eat, spends any time far from water. if whatever it is cannot jump right in, it’s dinner. penguins won’t stand a chance. unfortunately.

  22. Anders says:

I am concerned about that too. I think that polar bears could survive, relatively unchanged, there. However, I think that moving polar bears to the Antarctic might be proved disastrous to some of the native species. I am particularly thinking about the penguins. They (at least some species there) spend the winter months caring for their egg. They stand in large colonies and carry it on their feet. With a couple of polar bears there, an unknown predator, and an egg on their feet, the situation looks pretty grim. Polar bears will survive, as they have habitat on Canada and so on, but their feeding habits will have to change. They will most likely evolve to resemble the Brown bear in appearance, and habits.

  23. Robert H says:

I dont think they are saying that the Polar Bears numbers are dwindling now – and yes there are plenty of polar bears. What they are saying is that Global warming is happening so fast there that once the ice melts they will drop in number very fast, and that can cause extinction.

  24. peach says:

Naturally occuring or man made, fact is,our Earth is changing. And changing fast.Never in recorded history have the glaciers melted. Our Earth is over populated by humans.Only a deadly pandemic can fix that.

  25. niomee-kay says:

i think the global warming is bad. i wish i could save the polar bears. if it wasnt from all of the things we use like hairsprays ciggerette smoke and other things that harm the atmosphere there would probly be no global warming. i wish i can live on earth where there would only be me the animals and nature. it would be a much better world. please vote this 4 best answer.
